With the OmniScan SX, Olympus proudly presents a defect detector that shares the OmniScan DNA and leverages over 20 years of phased array experience. An 8.4-inch (21.3-cm) touch screen displays the OmniScan SX’s new, simplified software interface for enhanced usability. For less demanding applications, the OmniScan SX is a cost-effective, single-group, non-modular device that is simple to use.
The OmniScan SX is available in two models: the SX PA and the SX UT. The SX PA is a 16:64PR phased array device that has a standard UT channel for TOFD, pitch-catch, or pulse-echo examination, just like the UT-only SX UT. The SX offers an unparalleled degree of portability for an OmniScan, being 50% smaller and 33% lighter than the OmniScan MX2.
Setting up an inspection can be done in NDT Setup Builder and then loaded straight into the OmniScan SX using an SD card or USB key. Acquisition can then start when a few simple instrument operations, including adjusting the gate and range, are completed. Additionally, the following features make it very simple to set up in the OmniScan SX:
